Luke's Un-Godly Remix

Jon and Jen gave Olivia a personalized Veggie Tales CD when she was little. The characters talk to her directly and her name is inserted into the songs- she totally got a kick out of it. When the kids were babysat at local churches while we had our FPU class and the other night when we went out, the kids must have watched Veggie Tales movies...because Luke kept talking about them and telling me these big stories about what they were about. I remembered that we had that CD and figured he might like it, so I hunted it down and it has been on constant rotation in the car ever since.

Luke LOVES the songs- he is sings them all the time- which is great because they all have a good message- a much needed change from "Poker Face" and Flo'Rida! So last night I am making dinner, and in my Sweet Luke fashion, he says, "Thank you Mommy for this nice food." I tell him we should really thank God for the food, and he starts singing the grace that they sing at this Mother's Day Out... Then we all start singing the Veggie Take song about thankful hearts. Then he starts to get silly (shocker!) and starts to sing the "God Is So Good" song from the CD in a silly voice. This in turn makes Olivia crack up and then its all down hill from there. It was only a matter of time before the Potty Humor kicked in.

The lyrics of the song are:
"God is so goooood
God is so goooood
God is so good,
He's so good to Olivia and meeeeee...."

Luke's version when it was all said and done:
God made the pottyyy
God made the pottyyy
God made the potty,
So we can poopy and peeeeeeeeeeeeeee

(Roars of hysterical laughter)
Oh, Lord, help me. I don't think I can handle this brand of humor for 10 more years...

Home Again, Home Again...

...And so much to do. The end of the month has seriously crept up on me! Schools out in, like 8 days, we have to starting packing up, make plans with the movers, plan Luke's birthday party, finish the new stuff at the house, actually move, get settled, sign up for swim lessons, start summer school, plan Morgan's birthday party, actually go swimming, find a new job, find new Mother's Day Outs, maybe get our FPU budget done, get Olivia ready for school, sign up for MORE classes, and try to get our life officially out of limbo, all without killing each other.

Phew.

I'm sure it will be fine.
(Famous last words.)

Big Boys

Bubs and Jas have been thick as theives lately, so it was no surprise this morning when I came upstairs and found them both in the bathroom, Bubs asking Jas what he was doing, and why (and why? and why?... Its is new favorite question.) It turns out Jas was about to shave and decided to let Luke join him. It was pretty much the cutest, sweetest thing I have seen in a long time, and I am so glad I caught it on film (Even though, yes, once again, let me inform you how much my camera is on its last leg and the pictures aren't good. This may change in 8 hours and 19 minutes though, if eBay has anything to do with it- I'll keep you posted!!!)
Please check out the adorable-ness:

And on a funny note: I went in to get Morgan after her nap yesterday and it was obvious from the moment I walked in that she had a dirty diaper. I said, "Whoa, Morgan! You pooped!" She cracked up and said, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, poopah!" I know, I know, you are rolling your eyes and saying, She DID not, wishful Mommy! She's 9 months! Oh, yea: Listen to this:

See? Hahahaha.... ;0)

I Heart Kindness

Photobucket

Last week's FPU class was all about the "b"-word... Budget. The one thing we have both been dreading. The source of so many fights. But, the class went well, we came out in one piece and we have 3 more days to fininsh ours- which we WILL DO! (And not while we are watching the video like we did in week 2...)

Anyway! One of the biggest things we were kind of stressing about was the "Charitable Gifts" aspect of the budget. Dave says you should donate a certain percentage of your take home dollars every month, not to help your bank account, but to help your soul, and keep you from focusing so much on yourself and your troubles. There are people out there in WAY worse shape than all of us. But. we just didn't see how we could realistically give money at this time when we are working so hard to save and pay off debts, so we had come to an agreement that until we can donate funds, we will donate items and our time to causes that we feel good about.

So, yesterday, I took our huge bag of items to drop off at the Frisco ReSale Store- most of which was old maternity clothes and household items we didn't use anymore. Donation for the month: Check! And then, get this- I am checking my mail today, and find a sweet email forwarded from Anna, linking to this new blog: Pass It On, Baby! I've looked into other swap-type set-ups, but this one seemed easy and to the point: Just pack it up and mail it off. The girls will work on setting the right size and season where it should go. Lord knows with the million and one things our 3 kids have worn and gone through, we have plenty to pull together and mail off. I love the thought of a new mommy carefully folding the little onesies and socks that I had also carefully folded and placed in drawers, waiting for the baby to come to wear them, or thinking of them growing bigger and fitting in each new size...

Check out thier cute blog, and see if its something you would be intersted in, too... I'm sending in items later this week- Can't wait to see how it goes!
