Mo And Me

I need to have a "widdle tawk" (as Luke would say) with the advertising group what dubbed Marly and Me a "fun family film!"

Are you frickin' kidding me?

Has anyone seen this movie? Spoiler alert:

It is great, but do we really need 45 minutes of the dog dying? Seriously. I was a sobbing, blubbering mess. Jason had to get up and LEAVE THE ROOM he was crying so bad. We were both so emotionally drained after watching that we pretty much just snacked at dinner and put everyone to bed by 7pm. Then poor Jas sat there and re-told me the story of when his beloved childhood dog, Tex passed away and how eerily similar it was to the movie. Many more tears. Jason and I weren't dating when that happened, but we still talked alot- he had called me that night and it was the first time I had ever heard him cry.

Needless to say, last night we hugged our sweet Mo, let him lay up on the pillow with us in bed. Olivia topped his dog bowl off this morning with a little bone dog treat. "An 'Olivia Special' just for you, Mosers!" He is in the living room as we speak, smacking the fireplace poker set and then chasing the light reflections around the room like a crazy person. The clanging is like Chinese Water Toture, but have I gone in there and yelled at him to stop? NO. Because I think for the next day or so, Mo is king around here. He's such a pain in the ass, but he's also such a sweet part of our family. Just the thought of loosing Romo is too hard to think about...

So here's to you, Romo Dog. Mo. Mosers. Moey.

We love you. Pain in the ass and all.

Morgan Jane Loves Kai-Lan

Seriously. This just happened. Kai-Lan came on, Morgan grabbed her bink, army-crawled over to the bean bag chair and layed down to watch... This is how Jas and Luke watch TV, which is why I think this is so funny.

But its so cute...

So, I finished something completely adorable the other day, and I think I have come to grips with the fact that I have a serious craft-addiction problem. I can't just leave well enough alone. I realized this as I was getting high from inhaling the Modge Podge fumes and specks of dust caused by distressed-initiated sanding. But I couldn't stop. I bought this precious little wooden step-stool today at Michael's with my coveted 40% coupon. I got it home and painted it with my new all time favorite color of blue, Martha's Vineyard. I freaked out anytime Luke went near it let it dry really well and then spent the remainder of the afternoon trying to come up with the perfect image to decoupage on the top of the step. Then while eating dinner and watching, My Dog Skip, it came to me: It had to be a Boston Terrier, like Luke's beloved Romo! I then spent about an hour scouring the Internet to find just the right vintage style image, as I knew I would be distressing the whole thing and it all needed to "flow". I took the cutest one I found and printed it out and decoupaged it to the top. Once the decoupage was dry, I then sanded the whole stool to make it look like some little boy had drug it around, roughing it all up some 60 years ago. Then I dry brushed white paint all over to add to the aged look even more. I waited for that to dry, and then sealed the whole thing- smiling all the while because I think it turned out so stinkin' cute. Twelve hours of work later and I just love, love, love it! It turned out exactly how I wanted it.

Too bad it is the step stool for Luke to use to get up on the potty and will probably be peed on in the next 24 hours. Sigh.

(notice that the bathmat is missing...wonder what happened there... my point exactly... :)

Have Your Cake...

Jas was so surprised by his golf-themed birthday cake! It turned out great...so great that a certain four legged friend of ours decided that he, too, needed a piece- Or should I say, all of the icing off the back side!
(See him back there, acting all nonchalant, like he's just lookin' out the window, minding his own business...)
Damn dog! I guess that's what we get for leaving it on the table and not keeping a close eye on that guy...
Oh, well- that's 450,000 calories we didn't need anyway!

Fab Five Friday

1. I finally finished my website!!!! Now I can start sending out samples and have somewhere for people to go shop around and place orders!!! I hope to get this little ball rolling again- had to start with just the things I've already done, but hope by the first of the year I can add more categories! YEA! (If you need cute Teacher's gifts for Christmas...)

2.Morgan found her feet! Is there anything cuter than a baby all rolly-polly on thier back while holding thier feet??? I think not.
3.We found a great photographer, Brandi Fornoff, and had a wonderful time at the Arboretum having the kids' pictures made! As soon as we get the proofs, I'll post some. 4. Romo, our puppy, has proven himself to be the most patient dog on the planet. I have always ben fearful of dog and kids, but poor Mo lets Luke do ANYTHING to him and just sits there. They are true buddies. "I wub you, Moey Dog".

Who has let Luke bury him under throw pillows and his Bunny???

It's Mo!!!!!

(If you look close in the background picture of Morgan, you'll notice sweet Mo just walking around wearing Luke's Bunny !)

5. We have made (minor) Potty Progress this week. I found that if I give him an endless supply of books, he will sit on the potty forever. He won't go...but at least he'll sit there...

That's What You Get!

Duh, duh, dummmmm...We took Mr. Mo to the vet yesterday for his snip snip, and I have never been more nervous in my life! We even thought about sitting in the waiting room all day, but thought that might be a LITTLE much... Anyway- he's home, he's fine and is HIGH as a kite!!! BUT! On Monday we were all swimming (because its the only way not to melt when its 113 degrees outside) and Olivia and Luke were being their little fishy-selves, jumping in the pool, splashing... So Olivia gets out and gets ready to jump and who decides to jump in with her??? MO! HOLY MOLY! He just jumped right in! Now, we have put him in the pool before, but Jas has always held him, and guided him towards the steps when he had had enough- but this time he had jumped in the middle of the pool and PANICKED!!! So sweet Olivia swam over and tried to push him up over the wall where he was frantically trying to get out. She grabbed him and he really freaked and the next thing I know she is screaming, the dog is yelping and I had to get off my float (damnit!) Everyone came out running to see what had happened and we look down and Mo just about took her sweet little leg off- totally scraped up! It was awful- but honestly, nothing that an icepack and a Popsicle couldn't fix! The next day, she woke up and it looked like we had beaten her!!! And to make things worse, I had to take her to the doctor that day and didn't realize she was wearing short little shorts til we got there- I am sure Dr. DeLucca made a note to call CPS in her file- Great!

ON A GREAT HAPPY NOTE: They are putting the house we are leasing back on the market this weekend! The homeowners approved, and so we are going to start packing our stuff back up, and officially moving into Martha's to then help her pack up and then work on selling her house once Morgan has arrived, and I am back on my feet. We are hoping to be home by fall! Say a prayer for us that: a) our house leases quickly b) Morgan arrives safe and sound in July and c) Martha's house sells lickity-split!

The Birds and The Mo's

OH LORD! So anyone that has been to our home since say, February, has seen or heard about Romo's raccoon girlfriend...Well, it has been getting him a bit of trouble lately, considering he can't seem to control himself around her. We have been in talks since we got here about finding a vet ASAP to have him fixed- mostly because we didn't want Olivia to ask us what in the world he was doing! WELL! AHHHHHHHHHHH! Today we were are Martha's house and she has this HUGE stuffed animal dog- we're talking like 6 feet long- Mo goes crazy over this thing, and we usually put it in a guest room. We forgot today, and didn't think anything of it, until Olivia comes running in the office where we all were and says, "There is something reall wrong with Mo! He was doing this (and she proceeds to demonstrate by shaking her tush and do some spastic pelvic thrusts- AH! UGH! NO!) and then his peepee turned all red! He won't move!!!" So she's freaking out, we are crying laughing and freaking out, and poor Mo is just freaked out period. This was not how I invisioned my precious little O learning about the B & Bs. But of course, she knew she had gotten a rise out of all of us, so she kept asking question after question! IT WAS HORRIBLE! All I could come up with was "That's what happens to dogs when they are in love." How sad is that? He has an appointment Tuesday at 7:30 am.

We're Here!!!

The trip out here wasn't too bad except for a few little bumps along the way, namely: listening to High School Musical 2 about 10 times, Luke getting car sick while driving though the mountains, almost running out of gas in the MIDDLE of NOWHERE (thanks Lysh, for saving me -AGAIN!), surviving numerous dust storms, being stopped by border patrol and a run-in with a crack-head at Wendy's in New Mexico. All that matters is WE MADE IT! To top it off, it only took Romo about 2 minutes of being out of the car here to have a run-in a cactus. He has learned his lesson as to what to try to pee on, and what should PROBOBLY been left alone- HA!

So! I have been up to my eyeballs in boxes, trash and RANDOM items that seemed to sneak there way out here with us, but we have worked so hard the house is coming together! YEA!!! Here is the slideshow of the house "Before" and after I clean house today while the kids are at M & G's I'll make an "After" for tomorrow....
